I read Amanda’s book a few months ago, and couldn’t put it down.
I am in awe of my beautiful friend, she really is an inspiration !!.
After experiencing so much heartache, and not letting it beat her, Amanda, went on this journey, and WOW, what an amazing adventure it was. The book is just stunning – the photography and words. Do yourself a favour and read this book, and learn how Amanda learnt to live again.

“This book was inspiring, and made me realise I could do more with my life. It was also a useful insight into a very different world, far away from suburbia in Sydney. What an epic adventure! I congratulate this go-get-it woman who has transformed From a mother of four into an adventurer and author. Wow!”

Amanda is warmth and happiness with a sunshine smile. Our sons Max and Aaron were best friends in high school and we connected immediately. I cherished the time our families spent together on holiday and enjoying adventures in nature. The sudden death of her husband Graeme at the age of 60, shook us all to the core. Amanda channelled her grief into an extraordinary trip to the Himalayas. Her strength and determination to survive this tragedy can be felt in these spectacular photographs. I found them awe-inspiring and devoured every single word in one sitting. Amanda still managed to light up her stark grey surroundings and continues to embrace life to the fullest.

I loved this book. Not only did I find the photography stunningly beautiful, but found the underlying message about the healing force of nature to be quite profound. This book is a treat to read and enjoy as a record of an adventure. It would also be a valuable gift for anyone making their way through grief or loss.

One Step is a panoramic feast filled with page after page of evocative images of her epic trek thru the Himalayas interwoven with the story of this inspirational woman. Amanda shares her thoughts and experiences as we follow her adventures. She conquers her deepest despair and rediscovers all that love and life have to offer while sharing some of the most beautiful images of the top of the world. This stunning and inspiring book is at home on any coffee table, my copy however now resides in my daughter’s pack as goes from hiking to rock climbing to abseiling, following Amanda’s One Step.

I found One Step impossible to put down. Amanda opens up about her personal tragedy as she takes on the onerous task of trekking in the Himalayas in winter. This is a story of determination and resilience, all documented in stunning photography of the harsh but beautiful surrounds of the Himalayas.
